RFI enters into agreement with ENVIRON

RFI Global Services, leaders in test and world-wide compliance services, has entered into an agreement with ENVIRON to deliver the first approved UK Producer Compliance Scheme (PCS) under the new WEEE Regulations. ENVIRON'S B2BWEEE-Scheme was approved by the Environment Agency on 30th January 2007. This is an important addition to RFI's portfolio of Environmental Management Services for RoHS and WEEE and part of RFI's ongoing commitment to providing its customers with a leading edge services in this area.

Grant Taylor, head of RFI's wireless services commented,

"This is an important step for RFI that will strengthen our seamless delivery of a complete product approvals solution to our customers.Ê I believe this to be the beginning of a solid business relationship with Environ which has the potential to grow stronger as the relevant directives mature".

The UK WEEE Regulations require manufacturers and importers of electrical and electronic equipment to join an approved PCS by the 15th March 2007. The B2BWEEE-Scheme is now open for member registration, which will give business-to-business producers the opportunity to join well before the deadline.

The Scheme offers major benefits to its members in terms of service and flexibility. For Members who do not have existing WEEE collection and recycling arrangements, the Scheme can install a web-based solution on the company's website. Members who already have collection and recycling arrangements can continue to use these, subject to a short audit of these arrangements by RFI.
