Padwizard® was launched today
by RFI Global.
Basingstoke, Hampshire.
PADWizard ® was launched in Basingstoke today in response to the imminent EU legislation for the protection of workers from electromagnetic fields (often referred to as the "EMF Directive" and "Physical Agents Directive") a team of experts has joined forces to help employers and their Health & Safety managers understand their obligations and demonstrate that they comply with the new laws under European Directive 2004/40/EC.
There is currently little information in the public domain on the impact of the EMF Directive, so the PADWizard ® team has launched a web information portal to provide free information including a free one-hour multimedia training tutorial. The PADWizard ® website can be found at www.PADWizard.com
New features are scheduled to be added to the PADWizard ® website, with a major new service to be launched in April 2007, giving users access to a low-cost solution to demonstrate compliance with the EMF Directive. For Health & Safety professionals PADWizard ® will provide all the knowledge and the simple tools to extend their services to cover EMF risk assessments.
A number of independent auditors have evaluated the new services with the overall consensusÊ that the quality is "excellent", it is "very simple to use" and the proposed cost is "disproportionately small". The PADWizard ® team's objective is to make it possible for a typical employer to be able to demonstrate compliance with the EMF Directive for under £100.
Brian Watson (Development Director of RFI Global Services and General Manager of PADWizard ®) has led the development of the resource, along with EMF exposure expert Dr Phil Chadwick (Technical Director of MCL UK Ltd). The senior team also includes Joe Lomako (Principle Engineer at RFI Global Services and Technical Manager of PADWizard ®) who has dedicated his career to EMF and human exposure.
Watson says,
"With over 50 years' regulatory and compliance experience between us we are uniquely placed to provide this information in a concise and easy-to-understand format. Other organisations are charging large fees for training and information. We will provide all of this for free to anyone who wants it."
"PADWizard ® has been launched to bring all those responsible for worker health and safety up to speed quickly so that they can plan how they will meet their obligations. The information portal is the pre-cursor to the new services we will launch in April 2007. Our business model is based on a large user-base, making the cost of services very low Ð so low in fact that it will not make sense for employers to take the risk of ignoring the legislation."
"The beauty of the service is that it is genuinely Ôone-size-fits-all' and works equally well for SMEs and large corporations. Imagine if a company with vast premises and thousands of staff could demonstrate confidently and unequivocally that they comply with this complex Directive for less than £100 Ð that is what we will deliver."
